Setting up my New Urban Garden.

As my favourite time of the year is just around the corner I need to start thinking about how I am going to arrange my new balcony space. I moved into a new condo a bit further out from the busy hustle of downtown Toronto and as a result I need to replan my urban garden space.
This year I want to focus more on incorporating a few principles of Permaculture into my small balcony garden; methods such as chop & drop.

Using last years plants as shredded mulch is a great way to conserve the amount of water I use and in turn as it breaks down into the soil it helps to condition and feed all my new plants. Here is a picture of last years crop shredded and mixed in with scrap pieces of cardboard all set to go as this years mulch.

Summer is about to hit!

By the looks of the crazy weather we have been having, summer is just around the corner! If you are like me then you can't wait to go out jogging in the parks and enjoying a cupcake afterwards.

Right across from Trinity Bellwood's Park is a really cute cupcake shop 'Dlish Cupcakes' and let me tell you they are well worth the price! Not only are they mouthwatering and simply yummy! but also little pieces of art work. The first time I had one I really did not want to ruin it.

It is a well deigned store that displays the goodies in a beautiful wood counter with clear glass—simple, effective and all about it's products.

December 4th Christmas Shopping In Toronto

Come see me even just to say 'Hi' at the upcoming Holiday Edition Parkdale Bazaar. There will be Cheesy Family Portraits, vintage and handmade crafts—so just plain fun and a great place to go christmas shopping.

PLEDC presents the vintage and handmade market series.

The Parkdale Bazaar provides locals with an outlet for showcase and sales to promote craft, recycled and homegrown merchandise. As a response to the neighborhood's thriving vintage and craft communities the event will take place 5 times throughout the year and include over 60 vendors.

The Parkdale Bazaar Holiday Edition is our biggest and best market of the year. The event will take place in the Masaryk-Cowan Community Center (220 Cowan Ave.) from 11AM – 5PM on December 4^th, 2010 and will feature a hot chocolate station, Christmas card portrait studio and vintage Christmas special marathon.

Holiday portraits can be a little cheesy, especially with a 90’s Christmas Eve backdrop and Rudolf sweater. Why fight it? Come have your corny portrait taken by guest photographer Jillian Botting. It’s free! And we’ll provide everything from the antlers to Christmas sweaters, so come with friends and get silly.

Blogging will be slightly scattered

As you all have probably noticed my blogging has been slightly scattered. This is due to the fact I am getting ready for my first bizarre which is on the 9th October. I am busy making and creating enough designs and pieces.

About a week ago I took some really great shots of the Toronto sunset, thanks to the great idea from my friend. I just love the colors that you can see in theses shots and the trademark CN tower in the background.

Sometime I forget how great the city of Toronto is.

Coming up the One Of A Kind show in New York and Chicago, the perfect place to find unique Christmas gifts for your loved ones. I would really love to go myself and check out all the wonderful designs and products, unfortunately I might not be able too.
