Flexible Leaf Dishes

I simply had to post about these technologically advanced leaf dishes by Nao Tamura . Fun, flexible, stackable, rollable, and microwave/oven safe, what more do you want?

My only question about this product is whether it is sustainable and eco-friendly? Other than that I love how the design takes nature as its inspiration—Biomimicry, and how it continues the age-old tradition of wrapping food in leaves (grape and banana leaves)

Made out of silica sand, each dish looks and replicate the appearance of a large leaf.

Redefining A New Way To Part The Sea

Yasuhiro Suzuki's dream became a reality when his 2004 scale model of a zipper boat was shown at the Setouchi International Art Festival in Japan.

Suzuki has redefined a new way to part the sea, leaving in its wake water that is meant to represent teeth of a modern day clothing zipper.

Talk about being zipped away for the holidays!
