Procrastination

I am currently needing an outlet for my procrastination, therefore I have chosen to make a completely random post—about nothing at all. This is acting as a simple distraction and breather from working.

Cheers

How To Bring Out The Expressions In You

Communicating through the use of punctuation marks and signs on mobile phones has become so ingrained in us, that it part of our everyday routine. Therefore it was only natural that designers Chao and Eero created the ‘Signs’ collection.

This is a great way to express your feelings and emotions across different cultural backgrounds, as the featured signs in their collection are international recognized.

Below is a preview of the collection:

Getting my first editorial snippet

On Aug 7, 2010, one of the top trend hunters Megan Young posted the first editorial snippet for my small business. I got so excited when I heard about it, and part of me was very proud because starting up your own business can be a very risky venture.

I find that as long as your willing to put in the time and effort, you will reap the rewards. Other than that I am keeping my fingers crossed, and hoping for the best of luck.

Here is a quick screen shot of the published posting.

5 Great Etsy Treasury Lists Continued

I have decided to continue on with this newfound series and present another ‘5 Great Treasury list’. This is a series that I am hoping to keep up with as there are so many great craftsman’s on Etsy, and their work deserves to be noticed.

My hope for this series is to help bring notice to these talented individuals.

Graphic Design Once A Low Priority

Graphic design used to be a low priority for museums!—MoMa makes me doubt this statement sometimes. Look at all the different forms of graphic design present, from the incredibly well designed cafeteria, to the in-house store.

However it was Noel Martin a self-taught graphic designer who was the first to modernize the art museum exhibition catalogues—Cincinnati Art Museum. Noel made abstract art more accessible, and more appealing to the younger museumgoers, helping to introduce art to the growing generation. Thus he created a style that has been emulated by many other American museums.

Below are a few of his iconic logos:

Identity for Advance Mortgage Corporation, Detroit

Identity for Xomox Corporation, manufactures of values, actuators and surgical implants

One of my favorites is the ‘Nut-Brown Victoria Earring’, as this was one of my little achievements. Made out of delicate dried flowers and paired with a silver head pin, this makes an elegant combination.

I was inspired to create this piece after seeing ‘The Young Victoria’, and all the beautiful floral accessories present.

Special Offer:

As an opening special, my first five customers will receive a complimentary ‘Hot and Spicy Treat’. Check out the photos below for the item.
