Gift Cards And Typography

I have a great love for typography, having studied it as part of my degree. So when I came across these designs I thought it would make a nice little post.

These paper products are all part of the Felt And Wire Shop. It is a curated marketplace ofdesigner paper goods and is a great place to find unique gifts and elegant note cards.

Missing U Card
Camping Birthday Wishes
YouMe
Smoking Hot Letterpress
Ligature Connection Card

On another totally random note, I just love their shop banner.

The Eco Business Card

If you think about it, the business cards that we handout on a daily basis is highly damaging to the environment. They are usually made out of paper and have chemicals on it from the printing, which is hard to break down.

The solution! up-cycling old cigarette packs, napkins, and paper cartons.

I just love this solution, it makes use of scrap papers and card that would otherwise be thrown into the trash or recycling.

Peach Floret Earrings

I just added a new item in my store. A pair of beautiful 'Peach Floret Earrings', perfect for the coming of autumn.

There are three intricately cut flowers, arranged into a floating circle that is then hung from fine silver wire. It will blend seamlessly into the tones found in the falling leaves.

Aisha On The Cover Of Times

The August 9th issue of Times magazine shocked me to my core. Featured was a picture of a young 18 yrs old girl, Aisha, whose nose and ears were cut off by her husband at the request of the Taliban.

My first thought in seeing this photo was how stunningly beautiful she is, even without her nose and ears. I originally tweeted about it on August 22nd, but I strongly feel that her story needs to be heard. However it is incredibly important to point out that even after everything that has happened, you can see how strong and beautiful she is.

The photographer who shot Aisha, is Jodi Bieber, attached is a video of Bieber talking about her approach in making the photograph.

Upside Down

Today I was introduced to this new artist, Paloma Faith. I find that she is a mix of Amy winehouse, Duffy and funnily enough the lead actress Billie Piper in 'The secret diaries of a call girl'. Don't you all agree?

I have to admit I am particularly in love with this video, I love the artistic creation behind it, with the fun pink, blue balloons and incorporation of the white, pink umbrellas. Definitely google her other videos.

Sticks And Bricks—Mia And Oliver

Here are some fun and creative installations/prints by artist Mia Cabana and photographer Oliver Scott Snure.

These pretty little pieces were made by cutting out the silhouettes and illustrations found in books, which were then manipulated and positioned to interact with various different objects.

The above prints taken by Oliver of these lovely little pieces are also on sale for $24. Don't forget to check them out.

Series Of 5 Treasuries

Today is a beautiful sunny day, perfect for posting the next 5 great treasury lists. I have to admit today was difficult to just choose 5, as there are so many great ones that have been recently posted.

Overall here are my 5 choices, hope you guys enjoy.

What would you do for $5?

What would you do for $5? I find that to be such a hard question, apparently a lot of other people don’t. Some will edit you essay, take a picture holding up a sign of your choice or sing happy birthday in a convincing Arnold Schwarzenegger voice.

If you have any ideas on what you would do for a Fiverr, then check out the link. Or if you are just interested in finding a distraction that will make you laugh, then this is the perfect site.

Today I decided to bring along my SLR camera on my little walk to the grocery store, and I ended up getting some great shots of Toronto's little treasures.
